Closed Systems vs. Open Systems
We offers our customers a variety of DEF systems. We recommend that customers use closed systems to maintain the purity and quality of TerraCair Diesel Exhaust Fluid.
Closed systems have a valve coupling system that seals the container opening on drums and totes (IBCs). This will prevent contaminants such as dirt, debris, bugs, etc. from entering the container.
A pump is required for dispensing from closed systems. Closed systems require that the dispensing unit have a MicroMatic coupler on the end of the dispensing hose which will connect to the tote’s MicroMatic valve. Brenntag works with high quality, pump manufactures with products designed specifically for closed DEF Systems. Insertion pumps are not compatible with closed systems.
